Making Calls

Using the Handset

  • Pick up the handset, enter the phone number, and press the tick button OR
  • Enter the phone number and pick up the handset

Using the Speakerphone

  • Enter the phone number and press the speaker key

Transferring Calls

Unattended (Blind) Transfer

  • While the caller is on the line, press the key labelled Xfer.
  • Dial the number you wish to transfer the call to and press the tick button.
    • If you wish to cancel the transfer and return to the call, press the line key.

Attended Transfer

  • Place the call on hold by pressing the key labelled Hold.
  • Dial the number you wish to transfer the call to and press the tick button. When the other person answers and wishes to accept the call, press the key labelled Xfer and then the tick button.
    • If the intended party does not want to accept the call, press the first line key to return back to the original call.

Conference Calling

Initiating a conference

  1. Call the first intended participant and put him or her on hold.
  2. Call the next intended participant and put him or her on hold.

    • Continue likewise with the third and fourth participants, if applicable.
  3. Press Cnf.On to start the conference.

Adding a participant

  • Adding an incoming call:

    1. Press the tick button or the blinking line key to accept the call. The conference is put on hold.
    2. Press Cnf.On to start a conference with all held calls, including the additional participant.
  • Calling a new participant:

    1. Place the call on hold by pressing the key labelled Hold.
    2. Dial the number of the new participant.
    3. With the new participant on the line, press Cnf.On.

What the Display Means

Info and status bar: The date and time are displayed in this line, unless there is a new status message. Any of numerous messages concerning the current status of the phone will replace the date in this bar, for example missed calls, the availability of a firmware update, a reboot being required, etc. If there is more than one current status message at any one time, the one with the highest priority will be shown.


What The LED Indicators Mean

Call Indicator

Snom 710

The bright-red LED situated at the upper right corner of the phone indicates incoming, ongoing,
held, and missed calls. They will be:

  • Blinking rapidly when a call is coming in
  • Glowing steadily when dialling, when in a call, and when a call is on hold
  • Blinking slowly when there was a missed call:
    • Press X if you wish to turn the LEDs off without viewing the call history
    • To view the details of the missed call press on the navigation key to show the Call History screen and simultaneously turn off the LED

Function Key LEDs

A green LED on the key will be activated when a key event occurs.

For example, when placing a call on hold, the first and top function key next to the alphanumeric keypad will flash green.

Message Key

Snom 710

The key labelled Message will glow red when there is a new message in your mailbox. This key also allows you to set your unavailable voicemail message using the interactive voice menu.
